​Hi. I am new to this site and still a little nervous about the next 12 months. When I have my transgender surgery from a male form to the woman I have always envisioned i'd be, I couldn't help but wonder how much more difficult it is for autistic people.

Firstly, when i am in a room full of people, i feel like a sinking ship and have no clue how to keep my head above water. But knowing i was never meant to be male and that I feel so feminine and am feminine in terms of my personality and very soul, then i feel that the challenge of realising my transgender self, has so much significance not just as a human being but also as a disabled person, who never should have been male.

It is difficult often for autistic people to make and keep friends, sometimes and this is due to society misunderstanding and having unreasonable expectations, especially when someone who's transgender, just like i am, also has to face life with both autistic and transgender realisations.

Society is so easy to judge both LGBTQ+ people autistic people, so discrimination sometimes can just leap out from societies thoughts, feelings, actions and words and this can be hurtful and offensive discrimination.

I literally just have my mother to support me and have had 4 girlfriends in the past. Well one became an engagement, but well your fiance wont even tell her friends and loved ones that your engaged and there is bias from NOT understanding LGBTQ+ and AUTISTIC realities of the person your meant to commit with, then the whole relationship just comes crashing down and even made me think negatively of myself, to the point where depression set in and the relationship had subsequently ended.

Just feel that there are many undiagnosed autistics who are LGBTQ+ and are in need are having their LGBTQ+ needs to be established, is simply a god given human right. 

For me as a transgender woman in mind and soul while awaiting hormones and surgery within the next 12 months, who's also autistic, life's road has been one tough cookie to take. My mother has and is always there for me and i know how difficult reaching out to others is.

I feel that there needs to be a significant boost in understanding for autistic LGBTQ+ people and even if the Law needs to be changed and updated to protect LGBTQ+ disabled people, then it simply should be.

I've never campaigned in my life, yet I feel like that's what i am doing with this post. I'm not a campaigner, honest! Just feel like i needed to offload some much needed feeling.

Just wonder how other LGBTQ+ people feel, including LGBTQ+ people who have disabilities, especially autism.

Let people simply and within their human rights be themselves.
