I'm hoping to improve my skills in taking erotic photographs. Once you've got the basics right (focus, exposure :), and composition), and someone to photo!, what do people think makes an erotic photograph outstanding? Explicitness, sublety, attractive bodies, voyeurism, or what? And is there a gender devide here?

hi please check what is also in the frame ie. ironing boards,kids toys general mess , outside shots of peoples gardens with rusty prams abandoned cars yuk yuk yuk total turn off

depends what your end result must be. soft focus adds can be flattering. lighting also important. if you dont have studio lighting then use reflectors and natural light. light is the snappers best friend. you can also slow your film down.shoot at iso 800 for a grainy feel. nudes dont have to be pin sharp. shoot b & w. NEVER use auto functions.

Close ups also good - use the flow of body lines to creat your image.

thanks; i like the idea of using a high ISO number. As you say it has aesthetic anvantages but also permits shooting in more naturalistic lighting levels.

just need a subject now!
