Do you have a crush on the site?

I think "crush" here means someone interesting that you're never likely to meet - usually because of geography, or sometimes because of the age difference. I suppose it's a form of admiration that is never likely to be "consummated", and so allows a more relaxed form of interchange.

I agree that many people will indeed tell you what you want to hear if there's even a slim chance they can get into your knickersboxers. However, in the case of a crush, you can enjoy a form of communication that involves no pressure or serious expectations.

I suppose the content of an individual's hotlist is more representative of lust rather than fascination, whereas a crush is something more cerebral (although I suppose distant physical attraction may also be a factor).

Skebbie, I think you have completely understood what I meant. A crush is more platonic...It is more like an ethereal feeling for someone...I admire his mental skills and his generosity in this case. However, I am sure we would never have anything and so we have got what you just described, a very easy going relation with no expectations....Maybe just a little hope...:)

Surely everyone has a crush don't they? We can't all be cynical and cold hearted that we dismiss people as time-wasters and liars?

Nope, I've not had a 'Crush' since back in my school days and that didn't pan out too well as i married the man (using the word man is very grudged) which didn't turn out have a fairy tale ending.

Yes, I do have a crush in the way you describe - a friend first and foremost. I chatted easily with him in the room and have had the luck to meet him in person - not that type of 'meet'. Online crushes are strange :-) You slowly discover the personality of a person through chats, blogs and pictures, and you mentally create an image of your crash, both physically and psychologically.
When the moment of truth arrives (the first face to face meeting), you get often disappointed... but the few times you are not, WOW!! the intensity of the crush is devastating :-D

By the way Free... you are probably the only crash that I ever had on this site :-)
