A strange and rather disturbing fetish seems to be doing the rounds. Eye licking, also known as oculolinctus, or worming has graced our country. We discover more about this craze and why it’s not such a hot idea.

Eye licking has actually been around since the early 2000s. Like many slightly strange fetishes, it’s pretty hard to pinpoint exactly where this first started, but recently it’s been gaining popularity with Japanese teenagers.

It’s recent popularity boost could well be down to a Japanese emo band called Born who include this strange practice on one of their videos, but this is also not confirmed. Eye licking, also known as oculolinctus, or worming has predominantly remained an adult sexual fetish until recently. Sexual gratification is thought to be drawn due to the eye being an erogenous zone, but also the taboo and excitement of such a practice can also be sought from it’s undertaking.

It’s recent popularity among Japanese school teenagers has seen an up-surge of bacterial conjunctivitis (trachoma) cases, which if not dealt with properly can lead to blindness. Although this fad has not entirely swept Japan’s teenagers in a sexual manner, it has caused many difficulties with many children wearing eye pads to school to cover their associated pink eye.
